Succès du programme de recrutement de la Force policière de Grand-Sault : six nouveaux constables déjà embauchés

GRAND FALLS, September 25th, 2025 - The Grand Falls Regional Municipality is proud to highlight the success of its recent recruitment initiatives, which have led to the hiring of six new constables with the Grand Falls Police Force (GFPF). These efforts, combining the attraction of experienced officers from outside the region with the support of local candidates, directly contribute to strengthening public safety and the operational capacity of the service.

Among these achievements, the new Cadet Recruitment Program, adopted by Council last September, is already showing positive results. Thanks to this innovative program, four new constables have joined the GFPF, while two others are currently completing their training: one is enrolled at the Prince Edward Island Police Academy, and another will begin training in January 2026. This model, which provides financial assistance during training along with guaranteed employment upon graduation, ensures a steady and well-prepared pipeline of officers for years to come.

At the same time, two experienced police officers have recently joined the GFPF, bringing valuable skills, expertise, and professional background that further enhance the quality of services provided to the community.

“We are extremely proud to see our recruitment strategies delivering results. The arrival of six new constables, several of whom come through the Cadet Program, confirms that we are on the right track in meeting the growing needs of our community. Council is also continuing its discussions to plan the establishment of a new police station, which will represent a decisive step in the evolution and future development of our public safety services,” stated Mayor Bertrand Beaulieu.

For his part, GFPF Chief Rick Blouin emphasized the importance of these new hires for the organization’s mission: “Each recruit, whether coming from the cadet program or already bringing prior policing experience, directly enhances our operational capacity in the field. We will continue to attract candidates both locally and externally to ensure high-quality police services across our entire territory.”

The sustainable strengthening of the police workforce marks a fundamental step in ensuring full coverage of the Grand Falls Regional Municipality. The success of the Cadet Program, combined with the arrival of experienced officers, reflects a clear, forward-looking vision: a well-prepared, resilient police force firmly rooted in its community.
