Criminal Record Check
The Grand Falls Police Force now offers an online process for individuals needing a police screening check for volunteer or employment purposes.
The system allows you to apply for a police screening check 24 hours a day, without having to attend our facility. You can also go in person to the police force offices, located at 131 Pleasant, Grand Falls.
The offices are open between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Police Force administrative offices are closed on statutory holidays.

Application Requirements

Applicants must be residents of the Grand Falls or Drummond neighborhoods.

Residents of the LSD of Grand Falls, LSD of Drummond and Saint-André neighborhood are required to submit their application at the RCMP office in St-Léonard.

Applications cannot be processed on the same day.

The standard processing time for a criminal record check is 10 business days from the date of submission.

Vulnerable Sector Check

A vulnerable sector check is required for applicants seeking paid or volunteer positions that involve contact with children under the age of 18 or any other vulnerable individuals.

Examples of such positions include teachers, social workers, daycare workers, children’s sports coaches, healthcare workers, recreational program leaders, tutors, community or religious leaders and residential support staff.

A vulnerable sector check determines whether a person has a criminal record or a sexual offence conviction for which they’ve received a pardon.

In certain cases, applicants may be required to provide fingerprints for submission to the RCMP National Repository of Criminal Records.

A vulnerable person is an individual who, due to age, disability, or other circumstances, is at increased risk of harm, abuse or exploitation.

For volunteers

Volunteers seeking a fee exemption must appear in person at the Police Force office.

You will be required to provide:

Two government-issued identification documents that verify your name, date of birth and validate the place of residence in Grand Falls or Drummond.

At least one of the documents must be a government-issued photo ID.

A letter on the organization’s letterhead requesting the check. The letter must include:

The applicant’s full name.

Their role and whether it involves working with or being responsible for children or vulnerable individuals.

Whether the position is paid or volunteer.

The full name, title, and contact information of the person requesting the Criminal Record Check.

​Fingerprints
Fingerprint services are offered on Wednesdays by appointment only; please call (506) 475-7767 to schedule. Two pieces of appropriate identification confirming your name, date of birth, and address will be required. At least one of the identification documents must include a photo. The cost for this service is $57.50 (tax included).
