Cannabis, vapes and illicit cigarettes seized

Force policière de Grand-Sault - Saisie de cannabis, de vapoteuses et de cigarettes illicites

GRAND FALLS, November 25th, 2024 – Cannabis, vapes, illicit cigarettes, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), hash and other various illicit products were recently seized from a dispensary.

On November 1st, 2024, the Grand Falls Police Force assisted with members of Justice and Public Safety have executed a search warrant located at 287B Broadway Boulevard in the Grand Falls Regional Municipality. Two individuals have been arrested for various violations of the Provincial and Federal Act. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are expected to be laid at a later date.

Items seized include:

  • 95 900 illicit cigarettes

  • $2,900 in cash

  • 1.9 kg of cannabis

  • 500 grams of hash

  • 45 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms)

  • 700 illicit vapes

  • 1 ATM

  • Including other various illicit products

The Grand Falls Police Force is asking the community to exercise caution, as the consumption of unregulated products can lead to serious health problems. In addition, these items are offered in attractive packaging that may resemble popular candy, creating an additional risk that a child may ingest cannabis by mistake.

The Grand Falls Police Force would also like to remind the community that there are penalties for those who possess or purchase illegal cannabis, not just those who sell or distribute it. Cannabis NB and its authorized private retailers are the only ones who can legally sell cannabis products in New Brunswick. A list of authorized private retailers is available online.
