Federal investment enriches tourism offerings and supports community events in the region

Tourism offerings are essential to regional economic growth. Today, Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, announced a non-repayable contribution totaling $112,500 for the Regional Municipality of Grand Falls.
The contribution was used to purchase and install a modular stage and lighting equipment. This initiative aims to enhance cultural tourism events in the Grand Falls region.
The Honourable Gilles LePage, Minister responsible for the New Brunswick Regional Development Corporation, announced a provincial contribution of $67,500 for this project.

The Regional Municipality of Grand Falls is a recognized agro-industrial community and a popular recreational tourism destination in the Upper St. John Valley.
The funding announced today is provided through the Tourism Growth Program (TGP), which supports Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, small and medium-sized businesses, and non-profit organizations in developing local tourism products and experiences that position Canada as a premier four-season destination for domestic and international travelers.
