Grand Falls Police Force Equips Officers with Axon Body Cameras

GRAND FALLS, October 20, 2025 – As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance policing practices and strengthen public trust, the Grand Falls Police Force is introducing Axon Body cameras to its officers’ standard equipment. This technology, already in use by several police services across New Brunswick and throughout Canada, will help document police interactions more effectively while promoting transparency and ensuring public safety.
Following a period of evaluation and training, Grand Falls police officers have now been wearing body cameras on a consistent basis for the past several days. The cameras are activated in specific situations, such as during interventions, arrests, or physical encounters, in accordance with a strict protocol designed to uphold the law and protect privacy standards.
“The introduction of body cameras marks an important step toward a more innovative and transparent approach to policing. This tool fosters mutual respect, strengthens public confidence, and provides a clearer understanding of police interactions in the field,” said Rick Blouin, Chief of the Grand Falls Police Force.
The footage collected through these devices will not only provide an accurate record of events but will also serve as a valuable resource for officer training and investigative purposes when required. Body cameras are an additional tool to promote accountability, safety, and mutual trust between the community and its police service.
