Grand Falls, September 18th, 2025 – The Grand Falls Regional Municipality officially launched its Cultural Policy earlier this morning during a press conference held downtown. This strategic document marks a major milestone in the region’s community and artistic development, affirming the municipality’s commitment to making culture a central pillar of its identity and influence.
The policy is built around three development pillars that reflect an ambitious and inclusive vision, where culture becomes a driver of pride, vitality, and sustainable development:
Fostering Greater Community Cohesion through strong partnerships, increased visibility of local organizations, and greater recognition of civic engagement.
Shaping and Strengthening Cultural Identity and Sense of Belonging, by promoting heritage, supporting the inclusion of newcomers, and celebrating diversity.
Increasing Citizen Engagement in Arts and Cultural Life, by improving accessibility, supporting local artists, and tailoring programming to community interests.
“This Cultural Policy is an invitation to dream together—to build a community where creativity, dialogue, and heritage unite us and propel us forward. It reflects our commitment to making Grand Falls a place where culture is lived, shared, and celebrated every day,” said Bertrand Beaulieu, Mayor of the Grand Falls Regional Municipality.
The Cultural Policy is the result of a collaborative effort involving volunteers, municipal staff, cultural organizations, and engaged citizens. The municipality would also like to thank the Association francophone des municipalités du Nouveau-Brunswick (AFMNB) and the Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick (AAAPNB) for their support and for sharing their expertise as part of the “Projet d’accompagnement et de formation des municipalités dans le perfectionnement de leurs compétences en aménagement culturel du territoire”.
With this policy, Grand Falls positions itself as a visionary municipality, ready to invest in its cultural future and mobilize its entire community around values of creativity, inclusion, and collaboration.
